by Jack Eisenman
They say he’s king
Born of royal blood.
Heir to a throne
Unclaimed.
From heaven he comes
With winged hosts
And shouts of joy.
This monarch, they say,
Rescues captives,
Sets free the chained
To live unfettered.
Creator and sustainer.
God, they say.
Alpha and Omega.
But today, he’s a babe
Wrapped in a blanket,
Cradled in his mother’s arms.
